To P.A.C. for preparing and serving the garden party luncheon and to everyone who brought baking to share.
Special thank you to Roberta for your dedication and energy throughout the year, your assistance at every school function is invaluable.
Thank you, to Agnes for volunteering your time to teach recorder to Mrs. Putterill’s class, they sounded lovely at the Garden Party!
Thanks to Mrs. Quaas, who has been quietly assisting with the maintenance of the garden and volunteering her own time to do so. Also, thanks to the students, Mr. C and Mrs. Putterill, who have been helping with weeding and keeping the garden looking tidy. Having a garden blooming in the spring has really made our school more welcoming and cheerful.
Thank you to all parents, friends, and family who volunteer their time, baking skills, artistic skills, support, and energy, to helping out with school events, assisting with healthy snacks, providing hot lunches etc. The support you offer the school and your kids is so appreciated!
COMMUNITY NEWS AND EVENTS
Summer Reading Club at V.I.R.L ~ The theme this year is “Reading Rocks”
The summer reading club is free and it’s a great way to encourage your child to continue their reading throughout the summer. You’ll have access to fun tools, such as a reading record, stickers, prize medals and a web site game, to help your child monitor their reading success and challenge themselves.
There are chances to win cool prizes too! The more you read the more chances there are to win!
Starting June 28th, kids from K-gr. 7 can sign up at any branch of the Vancouver Island Regional Library. Pre-school kids can sign up for the “Read to Me” club.
